The problem

Important details. Only a few seconds to decide.

Private hire offers can appear briefly and may be repeated several times before disappearing. A driver may notice an attractive fare but not have enough time to compare pickup time, journey duration, distance, destination and congestion exposure.

London Driver Intelligence was created to reduce rushed decisions. It checks available offer data against the driver's own preferences and gives concise guidance. The driver remains responsible for the final decision and for using any device safely and lawfully.

Meets the target

If the estimated return meets or exceeds the configured hourly target and no mileage or destination rule blocks it.

CONSIDER

Close to the target

For example, a driver targeting £30 per hour may choose to review an offer estimated around £28 per hour.

DECLINE

Outside preferences

If the return is below the driver's floor, mileage is excessive or another configured rule makes the offer unsuitable.

REVIEW

Information incomplete

If essential fare, time, distance or destination details cannot be read reliably, the app asks for manual checking.

Long-distance guard

A high fare is not automatically a good trip

An offer of £60 may appear to satisfy a £30 hourly target if the journey is shown as under two hours. But a journey covering 80 or 90 miles can still exceed the driver's preferred distance and create substantial return mileage and operating costs.

For higher-value or long-distance offers, the prototype checks fare, time and mileage together. A configured maximum-distance rule can therefore recommend declining an offer even when the hourly estimate appears acceptable.

London knowledge

Postcodes and congestion, built into daily learning

The app is also designed as a learning tool. A driver can enter a postcode manually to check whether the area is associated with the central London Congestion Charge zone, then practise with memory cards to recognise important postcode areas more quickly.

  • Manual postcode lookup: enter a postcode and receive a clear area or congestion indication.
  • Memory cards: practise London postcode districts and high-priority areas.
  • Offer warning: highlight a recognised congestion-area postcode during assessment.
  • Knowledge first: help drivers rely less on last-second guesswork over time.
